On 13 April 2015, at the request of the World Federation of the People Management Associations (WFPMA), Dr. Nguyen The Vinh, Vice President of Human Resource Association, Vietnam, Chairman of G-BI International Knowledge Management JSC attended the first Summit of WFPMA Global Studies Committee – a new unit of WFPMA at Centre Etoile Saint Honore, Paris. Association Nationale des Directeurs des Resources Humaines (ANDRH) of France hosted the WFPMA Board and the WFPMA Global Studies Committee, and all its members coming from all the regions.

The objective of the Global Studies Committee on People Management (GSC20) is to create a “Think Tank” that contributes to the WFPMA and helps it to fulfill its mission, by doing research, holding global discussions and producing studies on people management topics. The GSC20 has been made up of representatives from a number of countries (3 to 5 countries) per Continental Federation (African Human Resource Confederation, Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management, European Association for People Management, Interamerican Federation of People Management Associations, and North American Human Resource Management Association) out of more than 90 member countries. The President of the WFPMA has formally launched the GSC20 upon the recommendation of each National Association and its Continental Federation, and the members of the GSC20 will be reviewed every 3 years.
At the meeting, members discussed objectives of WFPMA, the roles, operating principles of GSC20, 17 important HR topics as well as trends of the world and finally submitted 6 major groups of topic to WFPMA Board for consideration such as development of the HR profession, New HR practice areas, Labour market, Risk management, Small & Medium Enterprises/Family owned business, and Legacy research priorities – talent management, leadership, and organization culture. The Vietnam representative raised the needs on standardization of global HR ethics, HR standards/ISO, and HR entrepreneurship model as a future development of the HR profession, in addition to the current issues of the global talent management research project in SMEs and FOBs which were highly appreciated by the GSC20 etc.
